Diablo Movie Confirmed

Storm | June 17, 2007 | News | PC Misc
Now I loved the Diablo series as much as the next person, but this could be horrible like other movies based off of games, such as Dead or Alive (which bombed at the box office this weekend), and Mortal Kombat. If it's in CGI, though, that could come out well.

Anyways, after many rumours were circliing with a Diablo movie coming, it's been confirmed and is under development...most likely will release in 2008.
Blizzplanet points out that the Legendary Pictures website now lists a Diablo movie in their "under development" section, confirming recent rumors of plans for a cinematic adaptation of Blizzard's action/RPG. The listing is a link that circles back to the main index, so there is not a shred of other information about the project at this time.

Movies based on games very rarely work well, even games with a story that is much easier to translate into a movie, such as resident evil, weren't all that great.

I really hope this doesn't turn out like Resident Evil or Doom. Still, I'll give it a chance.

What is with all these videogames getting turned into movies these days? A Diablo movie doesn't really sound like a good idea to me but then again it's hard to judge something until you've seen it so I'll wait until I see it before I judge it. Hopefully the movie will be good.
