Many companies have spoken negatively towards the PS3's architecture and how difficult it was. But Digi-Guys, the developers behind Wardevil, have said that all the hype from early on surrounding the Cell was right. They say it is ideal for future HD gaming.

However, British CG specialists Digi-Guys – a development studio formed within the world-renowned Pinewood film offices – offered a ringing endorsement of Sony’s powerful console.

“Sony’s hype was right,” said Andy Whitehurst, Digi-Guys founder and veteran GC artist, speaking of Sony’s claim that the Cell processor is ideal for the future of HD gaming.

“It’s advantageous for our thought process. There’s better filtering on the Xbox 360 but the whole thing comes together better on PS3,” he added.

Heh, something tells me that Microsoft's console will have it in a future gen (either the next one, or the one after)!

Digi-Guys have been trumpeting the PS3's hardware from the start, so this is nothing new. I just wish they would actually make some progress on their game.

Difference being now Digi-Guys actually have platform comparisons. At the start of this generation WarDevil was a PS3 exclusive, now it's for both PS3 and 360. They are obviously coming to the end of development, recapping they are finally seeing how powerful the PS3 can be.

Coming to the end of development? You mean they haven't canned their project yet? We haven't heard a lick nor a cry of Wardevil. Not even a dev interview or anything.

Really it's a tad hypocritical to praise the PS3's hardware when they multiplatformed...

Hardly hypocritical it actually allows them to have a more balanced view. I mean we hear it all the time from Naughty Dog and Sony's first party developers, of whom are actually the only developers not to have touched an Xbox 360 for development.

As for WarDevil the game was featured this month in UK's EDGE magazine they went indepth with the game, graphics and how the game will play out. Just because the game is secretive doesn't mean it's not close to completion.

Kojima Productions. and goldva, a 1st party developer wouldn't even have the option to work on another system. ur statement about that is redundant.

But a first party developer who didn't like working on the thing would stop being a first party developer. Duh.

Tiger that wouldn't happen as a first party developer is someone that is owned by Sony etc.. The only time I have seen a developer break away from it's owners is Bungie. The rest are 100% subsidaries of Sony/Microsoft etc. They are essentially stuck to their owner until sold or liquidised.

It is second party developers like Insomniac and Sucker Punch that can break away easily, their only connection to the PS3 is through the joy of releasing PS3 exclusives, those are the developers that if they didn't like the console would move. Ninja Theory the makers of Heavenly Sword come to mind.

You're aware that whilst the company names and assets are owned the people are only owned for as long as their specific contracts say, which is generally a game at a time (rights not included), meaning if the people who worked in that dev team were unhappy they could easily quit and go elsewhere. It's not exactly rocket science.
