Left 4 Dead isn't the only game that has been affected by lack of R18+ rating. Many other popular titles remained unclassified for years, including World of Warcraft that finally gets M rating.

Australians have long become used to their draconian classification system for video games, with the lack of an R18+ rating designating some mature titles to the banned bin. But one type of game has curiously evaded the attention of Australia’s Classification Board so far--massively multiplayer online games.
MMOs such as World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, and others currently sit on Australian shelves without an official rating, seemingly in contrast with Australian law which clearly states all games must carry a rating. But Blizzard Entertainment is hoping to change all that, with the announcement this morning that their widely popular massively multiplayer online title World of Warcraft has been classified down under.

That's that Australian government for you... Once again contradicting themselves.

    FAIL.

Yes because the whole Australian government is responsible for the distribution of videogames

Though this does seem pretty hypocritical of the relevant parts

Wrong M rating. This is the OFLC, not the ESRB. Try using this picture to avoid confusion that it's another R18+ issue, which it isn't.
