The leaders of the Left 4 Dead 2 boycott appear to be satisfied with how Valve will be continuing their support of Left 4 Dead and the direction they are taking Left 4 Dead 2. The Left 4 Dead 2 Boycott Steam Community group will be closed this Wednesday.

We have accomplished everything we can on our manifesto. We’ve been dealing with Valve ever since our group started, then we met them in-person and now we’re at the point of concluding our discussions. Our goal wasn’t to steer people away from L4D2, it was to get Valve’s attention and have them support original L4D. We succeeded and that’s where our mission ends; nothing more or less.

Now if we could just get the "OFLC are boycotting Left 4 Dead 2 from Australia cause they've a bunch of pussies" I'll be happy

I'm sure the fact that Valve flew them to the studio had nothing to do with it? Right?

    Right.

It probably had mostly everything to do with it. But I think they were most worried about valve not releasing DLC for L4D any more, but valve is releasing another free DLC soon. So, eh all their points were shot down lol.

Hm, so I guess they know something we don't pertaining to the first Left 4 Dead. Their main concern was the support for the original.

Good to see this over with. Can't wait for the game. ^^

Huh, it's rare for the interwebz to see reason.

it was mostly ppl pissed thinking they were abandoning L4D1 and only supporting the 2nd game, especially since Valve doesnt typically release games so close together.

Basically they jumped to conclusions because they're whiny little bitches and they spent their time crying about how Valve have turned evil.

Haha yeah that's the gist of it. I'm still so damn disappointed with what some of these guys had to say though. Whilst some points were valid, such as the concern about the first game's support, other issues by members were basically insane complaints...how could they say Valve are greedy bastards when you have bloated gaming companies like EA and ActiVision running around? They put one crazy idea forward and the community just snaps, disregarding everything Valve has done, from free and constant updates to their amazing quality games, to the introduction of Steam...but no, let's bitch about it regardless of what Valve have done for us, whilst companies like Capcom walk all over us with their re-releases and stupid DLC.

I still think Valve is making a mistake with releasing the next game so early. (Though I was never part of the boycott)
