Earlier today, Microsoft and the Xbox Live Policy and Enforcement team go on a pirate hunt. They are in search for Forza 3 pirates and quickly banning them. The banhammer was announced via twitter and already has been hit with backlash

You know, when you play a pre-release title on LIVE when I know you shouldn’t have it, it’s not hard for me to figure out. #forza3hammertime

Heh, this kind of reprehension should probably be enforced on Games for Windows LIVE, where the bigger problem is. I know Microsoft has a similar option for it as of v3.0.

I don't see the problem here. If you are not a pirate, this doesn't affect you at all. In fact, it levels the playing field for people who take achievements seriously.

The problem is that Microsoft is losing money due to pirating. I doubt they're too concerned about how the legit buyers are affected by it...

Except that Microsoft is a massive company and already has millions of dollars.

Yeah they do. You can get blu-ray burners for PC and everything, its been here since 2006. Blu-ray isnt exclusive to the PS3. I have it in my laptop.

Check out Newegg.com, Bandito. Blu-ray burners have been around for a while, as well as blank BDs

Yeah, they aren't rare, or even all that expensive.

Blank Blu-ray discs are though, about $15 per. I saw a pack on New Egg for over $1000 which is ridiculous. I've been waiting for them to come down, since I have a burner.

The real reason it's more rare, is because even for someone with a good connection it takes awhile to download 25GB games.

yeah, i know they exist, but i can't quite figure out why you would pay 200$ for the burner, and nearly as much for blank discs as the movies that already have the data on them :l

anyone who burns blu ray movies is doing so simply because he can. it still seems highly impractical to me.
