Aktionsbündnis Amoklauf Winnenden, a German activist group, recently announced that it would be holding a "game burning" and invited gamers to throw their "killer" violent video games into a giant vat to be burned.

The stunt ended up being a little less successful than they hoped...

Just recently, Aktionsbündnis Amoklauf Winnenden, an activist group stationed in Germany, announced that it was holding a modern day [book] game burning, and invited everyone out to willingly turn in their “killer” violent video games all in the name of justice.

Well, it happened yesterday, and someone went to catch it all on camera: can you say “fail”?

SURPRISE! I can't believe they thought people were gonna go through their $60-$80 games in a vat for no reason at all.

      "No reason at all"?

They were trying to make us give up our evil killer games and lead us to the promised land.

Aw man! . . . I seriously would have wanted to see hundreds, THOUSANDS being burned . . . a HUGE fire haha . . . Man, you just don't get that community together-ness like you used to with book burnings and all that.

    Tis a shame really.

HEY! Why don't WE hold one? For games. Not books. Of course . . . with the pollution laws and all that, we might have a bit of trouble getting the O.K. From the government.

What?! You mean you wouldn't enjoy seeing the huge bonfire? Smelling that lovely . . . uh, putrid . . . burning plastic smell . . . Having some pop and explode, flinging burning plastic onto us . . .

You know, this isn't sounding as much fun as I originally thought.

Haha so the pyromaniac in HisServant comes out. I don't blame you, I like big fires too.

Can you believe their trying to pass off the small turnout on a bad camera? Hilrious stuff.

These people missed one big piece of logic. If the people hated violent videogames, they wouldn't own them in the first place.

Well, in their defense the disco burnings turned out a lot.

Then again, that was back when people were "experimenting" more. Like Psychedellic man.

I would have went in a L4D t-shirt dressed as "Soap" with a bag of marshmellows.

I also would have tried to...er...liberate some of the games.

Bahaha, what is there, like two or three games? Morons.

Usually when you buy a game you don't like, you return it or sell if for a portion of the price you bought it. Only an idiot resorts to burning it.

Was anyone else really hoping they'd zoom in to show exactly what games were actually thrown in?

    I'm curious...
