Heavy Rain To Be Censored In Certain Regions

With scenes like this in the game, it comes as no surprise that Heavy Rain will be censored in certain regions. According to Heavy Rain executive producer Guillaume de Fondaumiere, they "felt the need to adapt the content to the culture"...

Fondaumiere explains that, even though Heavy Rain is intended for mature audiences, the game will still be tailored to fit guidelines across the different regions worldwide.

"We wanted to have pretty much the same game everywhere, be it Europe, in the United States, or in Japan, of course, with slight adaptions, for instance, the Japanese version" Fondaumiere said, "but I don't think the changes we made will make a big difference, so that those are real modular things. We felt the need to adapt the content to the culture."

    Australia would be the only country, not to release a censored version but to ban it altogether.

      Even if we were to have it banned we would get the censored version.The only games I know that were never released censored are the Manhunt games which I believe is only because a censored version was never shown to the censorship board.


      To be honest I would rather have the game banned initially and THEN censored and released than the creators self censoring it because then we would never know if we would have had the full version.


      As I said in a rather big conversation on the article about the video this article linked to, I don't think the censorship board (found out it's no longer called the OFLC) would have a problem with the scene.


      Naked breasts isn't as shunned in video games here as it once was.Playboy The Mansion, the God of War games, Conan have all had naked breasts with no problems.PBTM even had pics of real naked breasts which REALLY surprised me seeing as we got it unedited.

    Would have been nice to have just come out and said which regions would have a censored edition. I don't think the UK will simply because they didn't censor Fahrenheit and yet censored it in America.

      Well if that was the case for Aus then we would get it uncensored because we got the uneditet Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy.
