As of today, Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob have four new brothers. Or four new pets, depending on how you look at it. Nickelodeon has acquired the global rights for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for $60 million. Considered one of the most successful franchises in the past 25 years, the Turtles have had a successful run in cartoons, movies, toy lines, and of course video games.

Oh great. Now they're gonna ruin the turtles? Nick has gone down the *bleep*ing drain...no, its been in the sewer the last 9 years with this ridiculous formula of these pathetic teen drama shows and preppy queer boy bands. I better not see the turtles singing with the Jonas Brothers on commercial. I'd puke.

Sheesh, what ever happened to the good shows of the '90s?

How can you see the Turtles with the Jonas Brothers? Jonas Brothers are Disney, at least do your research before you make a comment.

Meh, only good thing on Nick nowadays is Spongebob.

When comparing piles of shit, Jonas Brothers and Nickeloden fall under the same category, so who gives a damn if it's Disney or Nickeloden? They're both equally horrible. If Nick brought back the original cartoons, such as Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Doug, etc..., I'd probably give them the recognition they deserve. Spongebob is sometimes funny, and the only real gem they can vouch for is The Fairly Oddparents. It's embarrassing to watch a channel for so many years, then finally reach a teenage state to see that is has been invaded by a plethora of half-assed cartoons such as The Mighty B!, Danny Phantom, and The Penguins of Madagascar. All this CGI shit is what almost ruined Walt Disney Pictures and it's what is going to end Nickelodeon. *bleep* it.

Meh, all my old childhood cartoon channels have practically turned to shit now anyway, Cartoon Network is never what it used to be and their bloody idiots for getting rid of Toonami.

Remember the days before Dil was born? They were awesome.

Sorry for being random but that just reminded me of the good episodes of Rugrats, before the show turned shit. And before that "All Grown Up" crap.

Rugrats, Doug, Rocko, Pete & Pete, Salute Your Shorts, Are You Afraid Of The Dark...I wish they'd put out some retro Nickelodeon channel as I'd seriously be on it all the time.

Oh, and "The Legend of Sachmo" was my favorite Rugrats episode. I remember always hoping they'd play it.

Whatever man. They're all the same. If I actually was right, then I'd be concerned.

And why the *bleep* would I research the Jonas Brothers?

You show me one thing of the turtles within the past five years that was good, aside from Re-shelled which can be considered decent I suppose.

Nickelodeon is shit, yes, but what of the turtles has been good lately? When they started that fast forward shit it just finished off the beaten remains from various other bad shows preceding it and a crappy movie which didn't even involve Shredder ffs.

The turtles died a long time ago. This is just dragging around the corpses.

Well, they are doing a new CG-style series soon, probably on par with the TMNT film. Speaking of which, the TMNT film was pretty good, imo. Although Mikey and Donny were tossed to the side, the brother rivalry was done very well...what would have made it better though is if Shredder was involved. But it was a risk anyway...bringing TMNT to the big screen again after so many years, they wanted to see how'd it do, and not mess anything up...gives Shredder room for a sequel.

The Fast Forward stuff was dumb, but the Turtles are back on Earth fighting Shredder and pounding on foot soldiers like the good old days again.

I've also heard that a new Live-Action TMNT movie is in the works. I think it's set to come out in 2011.

I honestly expect that to be completely amazing.

Oh, and Nick getting TMNT could be okay. I mean, they have "Wolverine and the X-Men" now and that show's alright, IMO. My only problem is that it sort doesn't have a storyline, or at least not a very good one. The show seems to just be a little all over the place...

I can't argue that the rivalry between Raph and Leo was handled well, but one piece of gold doesn't make up for what was, in my opinion, a pile of dirt. It was risky bringing them to film which was exactly why they shouldn't have went on some random tangent story-wise to do it. If they just focussed on expanding the awesome classics with it it could have been brilliant, but I just feel they messed it up terribly.

I agree Drogo, Wolverine and the X-Men is worth checking out. Great use of animation and character personalities, but story is lacking at the moment. Wolvy is voiced by Steven Blum, same VA for Vincent in the FFVII: AC film, heh.

Yeah that's fair, Tiger. It's an old franchise that hasn't been handled with the best of care. I'm surprised it's lasted this long, in fact. But eh, a reboot would be good, imo. Re-introduce them, start things from scratch, get back in gear from how awesome it used to be...and stay away from the intergalactic mess.

It's been going downhill since the third film, which, whilst not bad imo, sure closed a fourth movie idea.

The only thing redeeming Cartoon Network is Adult Swim, with awesome shows like Venture Bros. Almost everything else is just generic action shows and the retarded addition of CN Real. Nickelodeon? Just like Disney, whore out their teenage stars and make excessive teen sitcoms with bad comedy. Only thing good about it is Spongebob...probably the only cartoon out there with some remains of slapstick comedy of the old days (like classic Tom and Jerry).

Of course, the TNMT were pretty much under the radar for me, I haven't seen an animated show from them for years...not expecting anything good anyways.

I thought I liked the new TMNT over the old one but after watching the old ones I realised I like the old one better.
