Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing
10 hours ago
The first Assassin's Creed game had quite a good story. Many arguing against that, but others for it as well. But Assassin's Creed 2 plans to dig deeper into the secret world of assassin's and templars. The game has been revealed to have a total of 3 hours of cut scenes. Now that is quite a lot of story telling, more than most movies.
As noted in the BBFC's classification report for the game, "When submitted to the BBFC the linear elements within the work had a running time (eg cut scenes) of 181m 30s."

The first Assassins Creed tried too hard, it had a good story but the dialogue scenes went on for too long. Hopefully these will be more exciting. There's a definite right and wrong way to deliver dialogue and my idea of delivering a story is not isometric camera angles that I can toggle through with the actors all standing there rigid and lifeless. It didn't help that the voice acting was so devoid of believable emotion.
I have high hopes for AC2 though, it looks better in all ways already.
Altair is an assassin, stab him to death and get the f*** out of there already!
