Good mnews for Sony. According to psinsider.e-mpire.com, it looks like the Playstation 3 is on track to outsell the Xbox 360 this year. Go to the source for the full article.

As long as Sony can keep the pace up, which all indications point at them doing just that (in fact, the sales gap between PS3 and 360 has increased in recent weeks in favor of PS3), PS3 will be outselling the Xbox 360 worldwide for 2009 by the end of this year.

Sony's sales have sky rocketed due to the ps3 slim just coming out. The sales won't keep going up now that the console has been out for a while. Ps3 sales will inevitably go down now that the Ps3 slim isn't so new.

Don't be so sure I mean NPD all time figures places the PS3 sales at 8 million in America and the 360 at 16 million. While the PS3 is destroying the Xbox 360 in other regions, this price cut still has a very wide margin of consumers to tap. There are atleast 8 million other potential gamers to coax away from their Xbox 360's in America, not to mention the casual market that made up the rest of the PS2's sales worldwide. So yes the sales could continue to go up, it may take one final price drop in a years time but I think Sony are now in the perfect place to sell more consoles than anyone.

As long as we keep getting incredible quality games like Uncharted 2, I don't care about sales numbers.
