Modern Warfare 2 Third Person View Confirmed

Earlier today you might have read about Modern Warfare possibly having third person view. Well this rumor has just been confirmed. The game will feature it, and it might be just as fun as the first person point of view.

"It's not something you can toggle on and off in ANY game," said Bowling. The special mode can only be played in private matches -- toggled on or off just like "Hardcore" settings -- or in playlists that are designated for third-person play. According to Bowling, everyone playing in a third-person playlist will be restricted to the viewpoint. "This is just another cool way to play the game," he said, "you obviously will still have the option to play gametypes normal as well."

    this seems cool but ill never play this way. from the video it looks like a bad copy of GoW. Ill stick to the FPS view. plus im not a big private match player anyway.

    Won't this like totally mess up the multiplayer? People will be able to look around corners and over ledges without ever exposing themselves.

    And now I'll probably get the game. FPS's are becoming such a bore, it's so awesome that you can play in third person in this game!

    When i saw it first i thought it'll be like the 3rd person view in deathcam, similar to Unreal Tournament.

    I think they should leave it in first person. In third person people will be able to move the camera around, look over objects and glimpse through walls.
