I find the idea of a Nintendo-brand cellphone absolutely ridiculous.

I higly doubt that it will be able to knock the DS off of its perch as its even beating 360 and PS3 sales. ¬¬

It may give the PSP a run for its money.

It's pretty difficult to throw such a projection out; 5 years away? A lot can change in the market in 5 years, hell, the Android hasn't even hit the market and that's going to be Apple's main problem in competition, not the DS and PSP.

Plus, Microsoft has said "Not a question of if, but when." in response to handhelds, so yeah, I'm going to have to say negatory on this one captain

Android is already on the market, it was released a year ago and didn't pick up well at all.

I was referring to the newer Droid coming out; but I wasn't aware that the OS has been on the market for a year now.

Haha, in 5 years time there'll be a new Nintendo and Sony handheld to compete with the iPhone anyway, hell, there may even be a Microsoft handheld too, so Apple can suck it.

aHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. FinalFantasyFanatic is exactly right, 2014 is the year the PSP2 is supposed to come out, and if Nintendo haven't replaced the DSi by then I'll be a bit shocked. It's aiming for a quarter of the market share, that's not even that much.
Good luck to it! Honestly I can't see it even getting that far.

no. iPhone can never compete with actual handheld systems. touch based controls are awful for every type of game except Tower Defense, which ill admit i do like a couple of those on iPhone. but all other games suck in terms of controls. i played a Wolfenstien game my friend had on his phone and you cant control it to save your life really. and this is a shooter that you dont even aim in, just moving and shooting. i cant begin to imagine how much it would suck trying to play a shooter where you had to aim.

or next year, since that seems to be the trend of a new model every year.

most people buy a ds or a psp to play games. the only reason anyone seems to buy an iphone is to show it to their friends.
