Neoseeker goes all Hollywood on ya this week with its impressions of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time movie trailer in a sneak peek.
More than that, there's mention of a new Prince of Persia game.
The preview was short but powerful. We caught two runs of the trailer; what stood out was the movies that inspired the game easily transitioned back onto the big screen. Feeling a mash-up of Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Pirates movies, the execution plays right into the expectations of a blockbuster summer movie, pushing effects and over-the-top action sequences in exotic locations in every sequence shown. From what we saw the "rewind" feature functioned well in the movie.

The game on the other hand has me really excited. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the new PoP style. Gorgeous graphics (I spent half the time just gawking at the environment), solid storyline, a female character who isn't stupid, incredible soundtrack, and a combat system that, while simple, had quite a depth if explored. One of my top 3 games of 2008. Here's hoping they stick with the new style and don't return to the darker, insanely difficult style PoP.
I would really like the QTE combat gone though.
An SoT-style combat system but cel-shaded...so cool!
But a newer, updated combat system from the previous would be welcome. Maybe add in a few new options like using the environment in more ways than pinning them against the wall.
I haven't played WW, now I'm tempted to see how hard it is. Can you compare it to SoT?
Two Thrones improved the characterization, but imo, SoT was the best in the trilogy.
But once you got more powerful weapons and you upgraded your health more the game's enemies did get a little easier. But I won't comment on the challenge playing as Shadow/Dark Prince in this game. A great advantage over your regular powers - you had infinite Sands, yet had a great disadvantage - your health would gradually decrease.
I assume cameras weren't allowed, that's why this was a "sneak peek" and not a proper public trailer.
