The Nintendo Wii has become the fastest selling console ever in Australia after having just passed 100,000 units sold. Nintendos director of Sales and Marketing commented saying how pleased they were with this achievement and that they believed that this is proof they have brought gaming to the masses.

Did we really need more proof that Nintendo is making a mint on Wii in Australia? Well, sure - why not. Nintendo Australia has proudly announced their console has just surpassed the 100,000 units sold mark in Australia. This makes it the fastest selling console to reach that mark in the history of the region.

"We are pleased that Wii has achieved this benchmark, but we are ecstatic that it attained this whilst also reaching new audiences and expanding the scope of our entire industry" explains Rose Lappin, Director of Sales and Marketing. "We promised we would bring gaming to the masses, I think this is proof that we are heading in the right direction".
