Electronic Theatre reports on the announcement of a PlayStation 3 and PC multi-player beta phase for DICE's forthcoming Battlefield: Bad Company 2, launching prior to a demo version for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in December.

Approver's note: Those wanting to get in on the beta will have to pre-order from GameStop or Best Buy in North America; announcements for Asia and Europe are pending.

DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio, today announced the upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multi-player beta on the PlayStation 3. Starting November 19th, PlayStation 3 gamers will be able to experience the destruction, vehicular warfare, squad play and open sandbox environments that only Battlefield can deliver.

In December 2009, DICE will invite players to participate in a PC open beta.

    Really wish this game came out sooner; I'd rather get this instead of MW2. Instead, it'll hold me off until then.

    I've been waiting to see how this game plays, I loved the demo for the first one, never got around to buying it though.
