Virtua Fighter 5 Comming to 360!

caddyzx | June 22, 2007 | News | XBOX 360
360 owners could only watch in envy as those lucky ps3 owners sunk their teeth into viruta fighter 5. But the wait is now over and it is worth it...apparently. See for yourself.
While Virtua Fighter 5 is a port of the PS3 version, refinements have been made to pretty things up. The aliasing issues, which were quite noticeable in the PS3 version, are gone from the 360 build.

We all knew Virtua Fighter was 'comming' to the PS3.

This may sound a silly question, but what is aliasing? And I'd be extremely surprised if they hadn't improved the graphics over the PS3 build, given a whole 6 extra months or so in development.

Aliasing causes "jaggies". Anti-aliasing fixes these visual problems, giving a much smoother look to the game's graphics. Check out Wikipedia for more information.

No idea what aliasing is either.

Yeah I was thinking that too, they'll advertise how much better it is on the 360, when in fact they've had a lot more time to improve it.

Of course they'll promote the advantages of the newer release. It will give potential consumers more reason to purchase their product.

Either way, I'm pretty excited. I always wanted to play Virtua Fighter 5, but since I only owned the 360, I never got a chance to do so. Hopefully I can at least rent it.

I wonder if the anti-aliasing comes at the expense of framerates or texture quality.

Was wondering the same thing myself, will be rather interesting to see though it would be pretty weak if a standard fighter would have a framerate issue because of anti-aliasing.

I just bunged Virtua Fighter 5 in my PS3 and can't see much evidence of jaggies at all... It's all rather smooth looking and shiny. I am of course playing in high definition, too.

Yeah, I remember this, June 22nd was the release date. I'll read up on some reviews before deciding which console to get it for, though. PS3's is now $40, which tips me in it's favor...but I'm a achiement-junky.

Wasn't this announced from the beginning? Either way, I'm glad about this, since I'm getting a 360 before a PS3.
