Electronic Theatre reports on the revelation from Activision that the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is currently outselling the PlayStation 3 version at a ratio of 2:1.

Following yesterday’s announcement that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 had broken the record for launch day sales in the UK, Activision have today revealed a breakdown of how those units are attributed to each platform. For sales throughout North America and Europe, currently suggested to have surpassed five million units in total, it appears that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has sold considerably more units on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console than it's rival system, Sony's PlayStation 3.

Call of Duty is an american game and Xbox is an american console. Most games sell in the UK and US on xbox because more people in those places own an xbox.

Everyone owns an Xbox, I don't know how but I'm sure everyone either owns an Xbox or nothing at all, out of 100 people I only know 1 person to own a PS£ while everyone els owns an Xbox, and the fact that companies such as Gamespot and IGN only use Xbox 360 consoles to show off games and give Xbox 360 games higher scores shows that everyone is a god danm Xbox 360 fanboy.

That's not necessarily true...the 360 version of games have been rather low in score when compared to their PS3 or PC counterparts. Dragon Age: Origins is a prime and recent example. Whilst not a major flaw, it's said to be slightly inferior due to some frame issue/coloring, etc..

Do you actually have an example which fits that? Looking on Metacritic, current MW2 scores are 95 for PS3 and 360 and 89 on PC. For your example Dragon Age: Origins, the scores are 91 for PC, 89 for PS3 and 87 for 360, which is a miniscule difference.

For now, all I recall is that the 360 suffers from a bit more with Dragon Age, I said it was a minor difference though. :S Just saying that they won't put out the 360 just for the sake of advertising it's greatness.

There's only so many whiny 7 year olds I can put up with. I got it for PS3 and I think the number of whiny kids outnumbers anyone about 11 with a ratio like 5:1

I can only imagine it on LIVE. Not to trash LIVE but with that ratio it must be at least twice as bad.

Really? Judging from the adverts and trailers i would have gathered it to be an X360 exclusive, i bet people didn't even know it was out for ps3

It might be because of the CoD bundle with the 360 version. The advertisements I've seen of the game have mentioned the bundle, which btw is a damn good deal, heh.

I think it was something like 55% of the sales on 360, 33% of sales on PS3 and 12% of Sales on PC, so what's the point when they barely managed to get over 10% of the sales?
