One game that gamers want to see become a film is Metal Gear Solid. Despite the bad track record that video game film adaptations have had there's still major interest in seeing the world of MGS brought to life. Now a director familiar with making video game film adaptations has shown some interest in making a MGS movie. But is this good or bad news?

Speaking to Collider.com about his various projects including Resident Evil: Afterlife and The Three Musketeers Paul mentioned how he and collaborator Jeremy Bolt would like to do the film version of Metal Gear Solid. I’m going to let that soak in for everyone. While Paul can give us an entertaining popcorn genre film I really can’t imagine what he’ll do with MGS if he manages to get his hands on the project. I kind of doubt that Paul would be able to give us the deep story that the MGS film would need to have and not have the film just be non-stop action set pieces.

Now this would be a movie that I would go to the theatres to see not just for the storyline, but the action. Plus I wonder how they're going to pull off the following line:
    quote
Snake, are you there? Snake. Snake! Snaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake!!!

And of course, I expect to see a breaking of the fourth wall in some form or the other.

I also expect something totally irrelevant to the game be a huge part in the movies and the main character to be a completely new character not Snake who will probably show up in the sequel for like 6 minutes before dieing.

Lol. Took the words right outta my mouth, dwg14390.

Anderson would probably cast Milla Jovovich as the superhuman lead who can take on Metal Gears with her bare hands, while Snake is the lousy backup who can't do anything :/

And what would be wrong with that? Jokes, if Anderson directed then I wouldn't have high hopes for this movie. I always wanted the movie to be complete CGI, live action would most likely be a let down for me; David Hayter IS Snake for cryin out loud.

What with the fantastic elements and Hayter's iconic rendition of the voice I always thought this would do better as a high quality animated movie. Anderson being interested just makes me think that more than ever
