Videogames are evil and poisonous, they make you aggressive, they make you want to kill those around you, they're responsible for countless horrific crimes around the globe. Ban. Ban. BAN! Look at the political handles attached to all that lot. And, moreover, those claims are not even true... well, perhaps they are in the case of Crazy Frog Racer 2.

This week, it's UK Home Secretary Jack Straw’s turn to latch onto the anti-gaming conga line, and accuse the games industry of "lacking social responsibility." Straw made his comments after vocal games critic and Labour MP Keith Vaz brought up the recent controversy generated by Rockstar’s Manhunt 2, which was this week banned in the UK and Ireland.

We should use the violence that we learn from video games and slaughter those intolerant sons of biatches.

Yeah, that would really help us to portray videogames as nothing more than a form of interactive entertainment. Good idea.

It's unfair to lump the entire industry together in this way; each company has different ways of dealing with things. Take a look at Breath of Fire IV; a relatively simple beheading (in playstation graphics) was censored outside of Japan.

It's just misunderstanding by people who haven't played or cannot enjoy videogames. Same claim has also been made to others, like novelists (The recent Salmann Rushdie for example), directors, painters, visionaries, etc... and for some of them, time has proven their actual genius.
