This is the story of what is wrong with the current youth generation, a Buffalo teenager called 911 to report that his parents had taken away his Xbox 360, as punishment - hilarity ensued.

There is a view that removing all 15-year-old boys from this earth would not only help global warming but also our cultural horizon.

Supporters of this view will then be heartened to hear the story reported by the Chicago Tribune of a 15-year-old boy who suffered a serious trauma. His parents took away his Xbox.

The boy, a resident of Buffalo Grove, Ill., which sounds like the sort of place where discipline is imparted along traditional lines, decided to express his feelings and exert his identity. He called 911 in order to ask the police whether his parents were, indeed, within their rights to remove his gaming equipment from his sensitive little fingers.

There will always be stupid kids. My brother once called the police on my Dad because he wasn't allowing him to eat without doing his chores first.

Call me old fashioned, but some kids really could do with a beating.

Shall we send the kids to you and turn our heads around . . . whistling and saying we hear nothing, while you "take care" of a problem for us? Hahaha . . . . I do agree though, parents need to stop with this whole idea of "I don't want to hurt the kid's self esteem" or whatever PC issues non-parent adults have come up with. Yeah there's a difference between abuse and discipline, but you know also . . . not disciplining your child IS abuse to me.

Beat him with his own Xbox, I say.

You know what's funny? Studies have actually shown that this ridiculous new age "You are a wonderful person!" bullshit they're feeding kids in elementary school only harms us in the long run. As they grow older, kids just become self-important little asshats (not the term researchers used, but whatever) who feel entitled to everything.

It was reported on 20/20 a few years back. I don't think the subject ever hit it off with other media outlets though. Guess couples these days don't want to face the fact that they suck at parenting. They should just be flown to the moon, and their kids sent away to be raised by wolves.

The fact that we have shows like "Super Nanny" says it all...

        ... I'm done for now.

Send them to me? Forget that, I'm too impatient; if I had to deal with little retards like this I'd probably end up killing them. On Halloween my little cousin (his mother may be my step-aunty but she's still a hopeless freaking moron, bless her) just kicks his shoes off in the kitchen and back chats when he's asked to put them away so I fed 'em to the damn dog and he walked home bare footed. Has he done it since? Like *bleep* has he. Every time now he puts them in the cupboard and hasn't spoken back to me since.

Does his mom learn from it? No. She buys him things so he'll shut up.

I was never hit once as a kid. Do you know why? Because I was taught respect as a freaking kid so there was no need. A mate of mine wasn't so when he was a teenager and he got cheeky his aunty would give a nice, firm slap on the back of his (and I quote) 'cheeky ass bludclat headtop'. What happened? He learnt not to be an ass hole and is now an actual person.

I'm gonna stop ranting. I could go on for days. You just know that the parents of this shitstain are going to blame the games for being addictive, or society for not having anything else for him to do. Stupid generation of fox news watching hippy wanna-be's grumble grumble.

Hahaha, I know what you mean, Tiger! I've had similar situations too (of course, it didn't involved feeding some shoes to the dog:D), but I definitely know what you're talking about!

RCG, I wish they'd show that report again! People need to be reminded of it. People tend to want kids, but so few want to be parents after they learn that it's not an easy job. But that's no excuse!

(Turmoil---Lol, thanks for the compliment there! )

Child discipline solves many problems, including this. A little five-between-the-eyes and this kind of thing would never happen.

HisServant77, you are probably the greatest minister I've ever seen.

    Child's ass, meet leather belt.

Seriously. Whatever happened to people knowing the difference between punishment and abuse? Praise in public, discipline in private using whatever method fits the misconduct. I was spanked as a kid when I was in the wrong and I even tried to fight it a few times, but that only earned me more spankings. Do I look back on it and think my parents were abusive? No. I know and respect that they were disciplining me.

I'm glad the police handed the kid's ass to him, but parents these days just can't seem to discern the difference between punishment and abuse, which leads to things like this.

To be honest I reckon the police should have forced the parents into some kind of parenting seminar or some shit like that; if the kids this much of a hopeless retard they're clearly not doing their jobs properly. As Russell Howard once said: 'Ban her vagina until she can look after what comes out of it'.

I wouldn't say so. Sure, he'll probably still grow up to be a bit of an ass hole but we all are. Dog's can be trained and conditioned at any age (*bleep* what old sayings might tell you ) and so can Humans, it'll just be a little harder. If he doesn't agree to go through with it, make him sleep outside for a few days.

I like how the general consensus of the comments here are "If we punished children like we used to, this shit wouldn't happen."

And it's true. Anyone who disagrees gets the wooden spoon.

Yep. I'm guilty of 911 pranks. But hey, what can you expect from an 8 yr old?

Honestly, I gotta say calling 911 is better than actually killing your parents over a *bleep*ing X-Box.

Doesn't change the fact though that both acts are stupidly ridiculous and, if nothing else, prove that some people simply don't deserve children.
