After an interview with Eiji Aonuma, he has said that we can expect numerous surprises at E3 2010 for Nintendo. Judging that they have said this pretty much every year, it's up to you to decide if it will actually happen.

"It is something we used to talk about with Mr Miyamoto, and he and I agree that if we are following the same structure again and again, we might not be able to give long time Zelda fans a fresh surprise." So we have been trying something new in terms of the structure of the Wii version of the new Zelda game this time. I am really hopeful that people will be surprised with the changes we have implemented for this Wii version." Says Aonuma.

It will also be featuring full Motion-Plus support, which is GOOD.
You can find the full interview in the next Nintendo Power on December 18th.

In an interview with ONM, Eiji Aonuma said that we can expect surprises at next year's E3 as Nintendo prepares to reveal an overhaul of the critically-acclaimed series.

ONM asked to the Zelda producer about how different the new Zelda title will be when it arrives on Wii next year and he replied: In an interview with ONM, Eiji Aonuma said that we can expect surprises at next year's E3 as Nintendo prepares to reveal an overhaul of the critically-acclaimed series.

In addition, Aonuma also confirmed that alongside full MotionPlus support, we'll be able to see more of what his team have been working on at next year's E3: "I hope that we can show you something at the E3 show next year and it is something we are hopeful will be surprising," he added.

I am not getting my hopes up. I love Zelda games, but this isn't going to get my hopes up. The past E3 Nintendo Conferences have been pretty lackluster and I'm willing to bet they'll follow the same trend.

Well, they surprised the hell out of everyone with Wind Waker. I dunno how many more surprises to the tried and tested Zelda formula fanboys can take, not that WW was bad or anything.

      ..wind waker?
That was back then when nintendo was cool, it's completely irrelevant now, even then WW was met with skepticism and criticism until it's release.

TBH I won't hold my breath. Their last E3 presentation was pathetic and not even metroid changed that.

WW was the best Zelda imo. Oot was up there too. WW looked terrible at first, but turned out to be the best from the TL series

If it's anything like this, I will be extremely pleased.

I have been dieing for a new, epic Zelda game for a while, and not that bullshit they release for the DS. I can't wait!

Oh man, I remember first seeing that trailer. It was just...amazing.

But honestly, I've been playing Demon's Souls lately and I couldn't help but notice that, the way Demon's Souls plays and feels like is what I want a REAL Zelda game to be like.

I honestly think Demon's Souls is too small. I can't wait for the inevitable DLC with the 6th world to come out.

Oh I agree. Demon's Souls is a great game, but it is unfortunately too small. Thing is though, I wouldn't mind having a Zelda game where the enemies and the areas are as brutal as Demon's Souls. Hell the bosses too.

I like the sound of them mixing up the formula, I've never understood how people can stand the sheer level of repitition in most of the Zelda games. Same order of temples, same weapons and skills, same bad guy at the end, changes would be welcome.

Bout damn time. One of two Nintendo franchises I care about these days (the other being Fire Emblem).

Twilight Princess was a complete let down compared to other Zelda games in the franchise, so i don't have any high hopes for this one tbh.

It'll probably contain the same thing Mario and NSMB has, that damn demo play which holds your hand through the game.
