New emergency system gives notifications through consoles

The state of New York is testing out a method of using Xbox 360s as part of the emergency broadcast system. If successful, it will be rolled out to PS3 and Wii as well.

    This in my opinion is a horrible idea. People hate it when its on tv and hate it when its on radio, and will hate it even more when playing games. If it is truly an emergency they would sound the local alarms and sirens. Don't ruin my game to tell me there is a rain storm coming.

    as long as it doesnt eff up my game when it happens. i dont care if theres a sudden hurricane, if im kicking ass online, im not gonna stop just cause crazy shit is going on outside.

    Hahaha, I would honestly hate that. Everyone hates those things it seems.

    BUT . . . I can just see thousands of gamers playing their games intensely . . . right before they're about to get that epic headshot, or the zombie bursts through the door... Then watch as thousands yell out when the emergency test system comes on!

    It'd be even funnier for those playing horror games in the dark and are so into the game that they end up screaming just in fear alone when that thing comes on!

    Imagine it with me, folks! That's some pretty hilarious stuff!!

    Someone really needs to put a parody of this in a game now, left 4 dead 3 maybe?The emergency broadcast system is always showing up in Romero's early zombie films, so it'd make a highly amusing opening for a game or some DLC.

      yeah, make it like its actually happening to the player, not the in game characters, kinda like how in MGS1 they would act like the video was cutting out and have the screen say "Hideo" like your system was turned off.
