30% of Xbox 360s returned due to defects in Australia

shuandrew | June 24, 2007 | News | XBOX 360
In an interview last month, corporate vice president of Gaming and Xbox Products Group Todd Holmdahl would not be pressed on the specific number of Xbox 360s that have crashed and burned on their own accord. However, today we learn that in Australia at least, a massive 30 percent of Microsoft's (first batch, we presume) of next-generation machines were being returned due to problems.
A Sydney retailer stated, "Out of the Nintendo Wii, the PS3 and the Xbox 360, the Microsoft product is the only one that we have had constant problems with. In fact when we sell the Xbox 360 we tell customers to contact Microsoft if they ever have a problem."

yeah, i've noticed this first hand and this is what made me decide Not to get the 360-BOX. So I was left with the choice between wii and PS3, and ps3 seemed to be the most promising in terms of minimal harware defect rate. But I'm being cautious and still giving both consoles some time to see if any latent problems arise.

I see you're still up to par on your fanboy comments.

Nevertheless, that's not a good number. I would never have guessed such a high percentage.
