A french coder by the name of Xero has released a 2D demo of Microsoft's Halo game onto the Playstation Portable. The demo is nothing like the original, but instead, it has a side-scrolling view with two gameplay modes. It's just been released, so there are a few bugs and there has been a few reported crashes. To be safe, you should run it on custom firmware 3.10 OE or 1.0.

A French coder who goes by the name of Xero has released a demo version of 2D Halo homebrew game for the Sony PSP handheld system on the XtreamLua forums.

The demo utilizes a side-scrolling view and comes with two gameplay modes: Killer and Survivor. In Killer, you have to kill all the grunts that appear on-screen while avoiding their fire. In Survivor, the objective is to avoid as many plasmas as you can without using your own gun.

Since it's a first release, there are a few bugs left in the game. Crashes have been reported by other users, and it doesn't seem to work for PSPs running firmware 1.5. A safe bet would be running it under custom firmware 3.10 OE or firmware 1.0. Hopefully Xero will keep working on this piece of homebrew until it becomes bug-free.

    HM..

Looks like the old Halo Zero (or whatever it was called).. which was a homebrew comp app that got pretty popular.

It's a good thing that this is a demo cause the graphics suck, I hope the graphics are a lot better on the original.
