Community Manager Chris Priestly for Mass Effect 2 recently revealed on the bioware forums that the game will be featured on 2 discs for both PC and Xbox360. The reason behind this?

"Because you cannot fit this much awesome on one disc"

To me, that is possibly the best reasoning ever.

1 - Yes, there are 2 game discs for both the PC and Xbox 360 versions, both the Collector's and standard editions.

2 - There is a 3rd disc with the Collector's Edition. This is a movie DvD containing making of and other bonus information.

3 - The PC version is a standard install. You install the information from both discs and then play with 1 disc in the drive. No swapping.

4 - You can install the game to your Xbox 360 Hard Drive as long as you have enough memory to do so and have the correct disc in the drive when you play.

5 - Even though there is a disc swap, it occurs at a carefully planned place in the game (that does not interfere with gameplay) and is done once. You do not swap back and forth. 1 swap and then done.

Too much awesome for one disc to handle!

    Confirmed by BioWare:

The PS3 version has been announced?

And should a PS3 version exist how is it that it has 1 disc yet the superior PC has 2?

      Your logic confounds me.

    It isn't too much awesome....

The XBOX/PC discs just have inferior tech compared to the PS3 discs.

Who cares, this means more content!
The fourth bit depresses me though...I have 7GB left from my 20 GB 360 HDD. -_-

I wondered how long it would take for the PS3 Fanboys to jump into this article and start boasting that "Blu-ray is superior"

Know what? I couldn't give two shits about Blu-ray. If I have to change discs, i couldn't care less, it takes about 2seconds to get up change the disc and continue playing.

Oh and for the person who said "The PS3 version only has 1 disc" Keep dreaming.

Hahaha, glad it got your panties in such a twist. No humor on this website. I'll be picking it up on the PC. Same way I played the first game, easily the best way to play the game. Visuals look so much better it's ridiculous.

Mass Effect on the PC is still gorgeous to this day.

And just so you know, no one cares on the PS3 about not having to change discs either because of Blu-Ray. There are actually significant pros to Blu-Ray contrary to what you might think, not just, "oh we don't have to switch discs." I like switching discs.

On the one hand, who the hell cares? So half way through the game you need to get up and change the disc? Boo-*bleep*ing-hoo.

    On the other I don't yet have a 360, so I can't get this and all I've heard is awesome things about it and its predecessor. So, with that in mind;

Hahaha, you 360-tards need to change discs, PS3 is 1337!!!!11!!1

Haven't even got enough to be getting games I want out now

    Two discs, alright.

    Lost Odyssey had 4

      Daweii Dec 7, 09
Does that mean Lost Odyssey is 2 times as awesome. As BioWare did state 2 disks full of awesome. I suppose this game isn't as good as Lost Odyssey then.

        dwg14390 Dec 8, 09
No it's just that Lost Odyssey was one really fat game while ME2 is one really muscular game, and fat > muscle so LO got 4 disc, while the rippling biceps of commander Shepard gets 2.

Why're we even talking about PS3 compared to 360? This article doesn't even mention that at all, yet we've got a "which is better" debate going on above...
