XBL Radio is reporting a rumor that Konami has three DDR games and a Karaoke Revolution game to show off at E3:
-DDR SuperNOVA 2 for Playstation 2
-DDR Universe 2 for Xbox 360
-DDR Disney Challenge for Playstation 2
-Karaoke Revolution: American Idol 2 for Playstation 2
SuperNOVA 2 is the sequel to last year's SuperNOVA game and the sixth DDR game for the PS2.
Universe 2 is the sequel to the 360's first DDR game. It will bring back a mode from a previous Xbox (non-360) Ultramix game that lets you freestyle to any song in the game, on-disc or purchased.
Karaoke Revolution: American Idol 2 is the follow up to last year's KR:AI spin-off and most likely feature more elements from the show. Maybe Paula Abdul also won't be so selfishly shy.
Lastly, the newcomer is DDR Disney Challenge. The music community is wary of this release, featuring material from straight-to-TV movie High School Musical. Pray for some old-school stuff and none of this modern-day brouhaha. Keep Raven away, yes?
Mysteriously absent is the mention of the arcade version of DDR SuperNOVA 2 and the Wii DDR entry, DDR Hottest Party.
Will Konami also finally fire back at Activision and Harmonix and bring in the REAL band games that were introduced first? Will beatmania IIDX survive the location tests and bring in a new PS2 iteration specifically made for American audiences along with it?
(This sadly makes no mention of any rhythm game for the original Xbox, singaling the end of the Ultramix games, which fortunately went out on a high note with Ultramix 4.)
