With recent news that the PlayStation Portable has received a surprise processing boost courtesy of its latest firmware update, game director Cory Barlog (so tempting to type Balrog) has confirmed that God of War: Chains of Olympus will tap that fresh power.

Chains of Olympus is one of the first titles that utilises the extra CPU power that was recently unlocked by the current version 3.5 firmware. That’s according to the title’s creative director, Cory Barlog, who wrote on Sony’s official blog: "Many people are asking if God of War: Chains of Olympus is going to take advantage of this. The short answer is yes we are!"

Slightly more CPU power at the expense of battery life? Anyway the game looks stunning!

It does lookpretty good but the last thing the psp needs is less battery power. It's already not worthwhile taking on any long trip.

@Gary15... grab yourself the Nyko Charger Grip, sir. It's an extra 5 hours of play, portable, retractable, AND is makes the PSP über comfortable. Seriously. Invest, it's not expensive. The PSP suddenly becomes hands-friendly, no more aching thumbs.
