Final Fantasy XIII Trophies Revealed

Today, Final Fantasy XIII's trophy list was revealed.
The list includes 6 Bronze, 3 Silver, 2 Gold, 1 Secret Platinum, and 16 other secret trophies.

    Thats it? I was expecting a huge gorge of trophies. So no sidequest trophies? I'm assuming all the secret trophies are story-based. That sucks. Wtf?

    I was expecting a lot more too.....

    I would guess most of the secrets are story based, but a few might be specials or sidequest related...

      Even so, the story is said to be what, 20 hrs I think? Thats a long time to get some story trophies. And 16 seems kinda short even for the story. I think the side-quests got shafted.

          Now is this 50 hrs including leveling up, or just story? Because I went through FFX and got to the Tower of the Dead in 50 hrs, including leveling up and doing most of the sidequests. Just curious.

          FFXII however took me 250 hrs to get everything, including leveling up all the way and finishing the license board. I'm hoping for a similar experience if I am to delve into another FF world.

          Apparently the 'average playthrough' will be 50 hours. So I'm guessing that's just the main story.

    I'm so torn between which platform to get this for. On one hand the FF series has always been a Sony platform based game so there's those loyalties. On the other hand I personally like achievements better than trophies (I think the whole trophy concept is retarded).

      Trophies = Glorified achievements.

      Whats the difference between trophies and achievements? They both show your accomplishments, they both raise your "rank" so to speak. Only difference is trophies award you for getting all of them. So whats so "retarded" about them?

        Which imo makes trophies better.I don't get many Plats (only have 8) but I still love the idea of getting a special trophy for getting all the others.

        Trophies are based on "levels", platinum being the highest. Achievements aren't really perceived that way even though some have a higher point value than others. How often do you hear "I have all the 50g achievements!" opposed to "I have the platinum trophy!".

        While they both show your accomplishments the trophy system makes you feel shitty that you don't have any gold or platinum where as with achievements you're only going to feel bad if you don't have *all* the achievements. Now, I can only speak for myself but I'm not an achievement hunter so for the majority of all my PS3 games I have bronze/silver trophies and it's meh. On XBL I have never gained 100% achievements on any game but you know, I'm cool with that.

          How is that a bad thing? I like it better that way. If you think of it that way trophies are more competetive because of that in a way.

          I feel that it feels a lot better to get a platinum than just having 1000 points.


          Some bronze trophies are harder than some silvers and Golds.It's stupid but that's the way it is so bronzes aren't always easy accomplishments.

          Or look at Teminator Salvation which ONLY has gold trophies.I actually feel a lot shittier for having 12 or so golds just because I played a game that only had golds, than for having loads of bronze.


          Also I don't care what type of trophies I get.

          I just like the mentality of achievements more so than trophies. I have nothing against people who like trophies. I also like that achievements each has their own neat little icon to represent it (for most games, anyways, Ubi FAILED with PoP achievement icons).

          I used to totally dislike the 360 but after playing some Windows LIVE games and getting achievements I've been hooked on them
