After the Demoman yesterday, it's time for the Soldier to get an insight on the weapons he'll be receiving the 17th December. It's not really surprising to see a new rocket launcher, called the Direct Hit, as unlockable.
The rockets coming from it have less blast radius damage but the destructive force for a direct hit is higher without forgetting an increased speed for reaching the target. And if you're hitting on a target who is in the air, you're guaranteed to do a mini-crit.
The daily update is still featuring the comic where we discover the Soldier in his home and how he came to say yes to the war.
And for those who still didn't have TF2, Valve is announcing a free weekend for getting it, as soon as the update goes live. Finally, if you're still wondering what you can get for Christmas, you can buy war bonds... in the form of merchandise in the Valve Store (skins for iPhone, T-Shirts, etc.).
Apart all that, the casualties of war is still in favor of the soldier: 5 056 014 demomen deads for 4 923 531 soldiers.
A high precision version of the standard-issue rocket launcher, the Direct Hit has been engineered from the ground up for Soldiers who have mastered the art of shooting at their targets instead of vaguely near them.
