This breaks down the official findings of the ESRB when related to the rating of Mass Effect 2 from Bioware, which hits stores in January 2010 - it's shocking what the results are.

One of our most anticipated games of 2010 is the sequel to Bioware's epic RPG Mass Effect, today the ESRB has released it's "findings" on Mass Effect 2 and to say they are shocking would be a massive understatement; more after the jump.

0 sex and lots of drugs would be more accurate. No depictions of sex are in that description, but that you lead the character to sex and then the camera focuses in on furniture.

Implied sex is still sex really. Just because it doesn't show it doesn't mean it isn't there. It's just like if a cutscene showed you throwing a guy down to the ground, then went to view only you, as you shove a sword into the ground beside you, right where you threw the guy down...Did you stab/kill the guy or no? Implied is good enough for rating a game.

Yeah probably more to do with his policing the galaxy going after drug dealers and the like.

Either they added a spoiler warning later on or you missed the spoiler warning.

"It's possible you could see some of the following information as a "spoiler" so don't read-on if you want to be a purist, otherwise continue down to see exactly why the ESRB will be stamping Mass Effect 2 with a big fat (M) Mature rating when it hits store shelves in January 2010."

I was playing it yesterday, so yeah I remember. Liara kept getting grumpy when I suggested she wear one of the outfits though

I like the new ESRB descriptions that let you know more about the game and WHY they rate it such. I just wish MORE parents and others would know and use it to judge out before buying games for their kids OR even themselves (I know some games I wouldn't enjoy if they had certain things in it, So I'd spend my money on a different game or something instead).
