Final Fantasy VIII's arrival on the North American PSN was announced less than 24 hours ago and apparently they really meant that it was coming soon. This week's update of the PlayStation Store brings with it the game as a PSone Classic that can be purchased for $9.99. The game has a size of 1.78GB.
As a consolation prize of sorts, Square Enix released Final Fantasy VIII as a PSone Classic.
Now you can experience Squall’s tale of love, memory loss, and “…” without switching discs. The entire game is stored in 1.78GB download that’s PSP and PlayStation 3 compatible. Not sure if import PocketStations work with the digital version though.
Final Fantasy VIII costs $9.99, the same price as the Metal Gear Solid Digital Graphic Novel and Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman.

I still have the VII and VIII disks myself anyway.
FFXII>FFX>FFVIII>FFIX>FFVII
I know I'll get flamed for that but thats my personal opinion.
I love FFVIII, it's my favorite RPG right next to FFIV. I have played through this game multiple times, have this and FFVII on discs still, but...I will buy this, because it's just that memorable.
I think it's good that they've released another FF on the PSN now, next will probably be FFIX.
