In other words this game is going to look amazing 100% of the time. Shame it's reallly far off.

I'll believe it when I see it, Nomura.

That's good news, I mean.. how many great games do we see that have great cutscene and bad ingame graphics? I can think of a few..

Oddly I've seen many games with better in-game graphics than cutscene graphics.

Hopefully this isn't a bunch of crap and does set a new standard for immersion and all that. Although some games are doing a pretty good job already...

Hahahaha, yeah right. No way. Unless they dumbed down the CGI. I know Versus will look great, but this is just stupid.

Just wait, the release date will be for September...2015...on the PS4. 'Cause they're taking so damn long.

That's the release date they'll say, but they'll have it ready September 2018.

Well, from what I have seen in the last two trailers I would say they are very close to having them look identical. Either way, the game is visually stunning already from the small bits that have been shown already.

Have they shown in-game graphics in the trailers yet? I thought it was all CGI stuff.

Well, I am assuming the video where Noctis talks to the blond girl (the one with their long coversation, no dialogue) was in-game... It doesn't look as crisp as the stuff shown in previous trailers. If it isn't in game... well, i still looks good, just different to me.

I don't think video games have yet reached CGI quality. Like someone said above, I'll believe it when I see it.

It doesn't matter, pre-rendered will never be identical to real-time in this generation, no way no how, or the foreseeable future for that matter.

Eventually realtime will be able to look "good enough" to not really need CGI in games anymore but pre-rendered CGI will always look better. It just simply will.

Thats the thing CGI will always look better. I mean in some regards real-time graphics have really edged the gap with CGI in terms of the older style of CGI. Though the second we get even remotely close, James Cameron is always around to show us CGI that is just that much better than anything. Where as PS4 might be able to replicate a Final Fantasy movie in-game the PS4 will never be able to do Avatar, and thus the cycle continues.

Ahh, I was actually starting to wonder when the hype machine for this game would start rolling. So here it is, in the face of Nomura making claims that are absolutely out-of-this-world in terms of bullshittery, coupled by the fact SE's latest game, FF13, really doesn't look as good as an odd few games from this year, let alone CGI.
