Unfortunately, it's not a physical stick (which might have interesting complications); it's a controller with a joystick and extra buttons for fighting game fun.
Pity there aren't more suitable games on the Wii...
If the swamping of the Wii in mini-game compilations and the adoption of the console by grandmothers and soccer moms had made you think everybody had forgotten about more serious gamers, think again. For example, Hori still loves you hardcore Wii consumers, and has proved it by producing the Wii Fighting Stick, the first of its kind on Nintendos new console.
Sporting a sturdy stick and eight oh-so-smashable face buttons, Horis creation looks like just the ticket for giving you the edge in those too-close-for-words Street Fighter II scraps on the Virtual Console. Street Fighter aside though, there's perhaps a problem with this otherwise fine-looking device: in terms of actual games, just what is there on the Wii that will currently make good use of it?

A kendo stick would be great fun; you could use it in an x-men game if you were being Gambit, or in some martial arts spin off, or as a sword or staff for some kind of RPG. You could have a certain motion attritbuted to each spell or special attack.
Of course, that would be quite dangerous.
