New Super Mario Bros. Wii leads Amazon's list of bestselling games of 2009

Amazon has posted their list of the 100 bestselling games from 2009. Nintendo's Wii system, Wii accessories and Wii games make up the majority of the list with the Wii system landing in the overall top spot and New Super Mario Bros. Wii is the highest ranked game.

Amazon has set up a page listing their yearly bestsellers in the video game category and, not surprisingly, the list is domninated by Nintendo's Wii. The Wii system itself took the overall top spot. It was flanked by the Wii Remote at #2, Wii MotionPlus at #3 and the Nunchuk at #4. Nintendo can also lay claim to the top-selling game on the list with New Super Mario Bros. Wii at #5. In fact, the only non-Wii product to crack the top ten is the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at #9.

    Nintendo had a great 2009, let's hope that not only 2010 is better for the gaming industry as a whole but let's also hope that Nintendo follows up '09 with a fantastic 2010.

    A better economy will help things out in this regard...

      Metroid: The Other M looks fantastic, and of course No More Heroes 2. ^^ So far so good.

      Nintendo's 2009 was actually pretty awful if you're going to compare it to the previous years this generation. They really need to pick it up in 2010 with some games OTHER than Mario, Metroid, or Zelda.

        Which sadly, are their three biggest releases next year (Super Mario Galax 2, Metroid: Other M and Zelda Wii [maybe] respectively).

          Yup 2009 was an awful year for Nintendo especially their horrendous E3 conference were the most original thing they announced was a damn vitality sensor.

          Metroid: Other M is looking terrible, Galaxy 2 is Galaxy with Yoshi the only game that could be good next year would be the new Zelda IF it gets a 2010 release date.

          I just sit back and have no expectations. I just wait to see the results of what Nintendo will produce and snag the games I enjoy

          Which unfortunately SNMBW is on my list of wants, but I've yet to get it

          considering the release dates of all other 3d zelda games, I'd say we won't be seeing a 2010 zelda wii. But who knows, let's hope I'm wrong.

          All SMG2 really needs are different levels. Easy, normal, hard, very hard. Just by adding those makes it worthwhile as the first was just ridiculous.

          And other than the debut trailer, I know nothing of metroid other:M except it's being made by the same people who think boob jiggle feature is cool.

      That game might be going down the Duke Nukem Forever route sadly...
