Mark Hamill did a fantastic job as the Joker in Batman: Arkham Asylum, but have you ever wondered why he never voiced Luke Skywalker in a Star Wars game?
In a recent interview with PC Zone, he explained why...

Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill has told PC Zone that he's never been asked to lend his voice to a Star Wars game.

"I don't really know how to answer that, because I've never been asked to do it. That's fine, though.

If you're playing Luke the way he was in the films - from his late teens to mid-'20s - I've outgrown the role."

I think there's a bit more behind it than he states in the article. I watched Bring Back Star Wars on tv ages ago and it said that George Lucas pretty much ruined Mark Hamil's carear and most of the cast of Star Wars's careers.

Harrison Ford will have to disagree with that. He pitched him to Spielberg for the role of Indiana Jones...Lucas basically gave Ford a jumpstart in his career.

Ford got blessed by the touch of Spielberg, he was lucky. but everyone else wasnt so much so. even James Earl Jones only did a few big time stuff like Lion King and Clear and Present Danger.

actually Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson's careers werent affected too bad.

Thankfully [on the latter statement]. McGregor and Neeson are great actors. Not sure about Natalie though...

Maybe it has something to do with his role as cockknocker in the most underrated movie ever...

That scene was better than the last three Star Wars movies.

I kinda really can't see how he'd do a voice-over for his voice when he was much younger. It was his regular voice when he was much younger. So how in the world would he do that?

I just always figured the same thing he said: he's outgrown the role of Luke in that age. Now an older Luke he might be able to do...

I remember him taking a disliking to the role because after the films whenever he tried to get a new role in a new film they just kept trying to plaster Luke Skywalker all over him.

because the last good game(s) based on episodes 4-6 were the Super Star Wars series from SNES, hence no voice acting. thats why.

Most Star Wars games don't have Luke as a focus anyway, so its not like he's missed out on a whole lot of roles.
