Quantic Dream's boss David Cage has defended Heavy Rain's sex scenes, stating that they aren't pornographic. Instead, they are "about real characters having emotions and doing what adults do when they fall in love."

Quantic Dream boss David Cage said that the game's steamy moments were "about real characters doing what adults do when they fall in love".

"There are a couple [of sex scenes], but it's definitely not porn," he said.

"We don't intend to push the boundaries and be ultra-realistic in every detail. It's about real characters having emotions and doing what adults do when they fall in love."

Well like I thought it would, it passed the ratings here in Aus with the sex scenes in it.

If a rated R movie can have sex in it, why can't a game rated M have sex in it? Seem fair that both R and M is meant for adults and have adult material.

      Not true...

M rated games are meant for 17+ gamers, which does not typically classify that group as an "adult". AO is meant for adults with adult material.

I'm not really sure what's up with movies and the R rating, though. Some of them are actually 17+ movies (i.e., Equilibrium or the first Matrix) while others borderline on NC-17 (i.e., Sin City, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List)
