It looks like the initial sales of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers have disappointed, with neither gaming making the NPD top 20 list for December video game sales...

It isn’t shocking that Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers failed to make the NPD top 20 list for December video game sales. Unfortunately though, both titles have sold under 50,000 copies thus far.

Why do they continue to trust the Wii as a viable game platform. I mean it's fair enough to assume very few copies of Shattered Silence would be sold on PS2 as people are moving on, but every week a new game releases trying to give Wii owners more substance than WiiSports and they shun it. Nintendo are really lucky I do not own one of the companies releasing games on the Wii as I would scrap all development for the cheap bastards to be honest.

you release a horror game on the wii and expect it to sell? people who actually play video games have moved on to the 360 or ps3 and just go back to wii when a new mario or zelda is out or when they wanna play some smash bros. Wii's are for old ladys now who think it will actually make them fit.

You cannot blame them for trying I mean the Wii is a gaming platform you would expect it's owners to actually like games... I seriously suggest that Capcom, EA, UbiSoft and all the others, focus on PC, PS3 and 360 and ignore the Wii fanbase. They will soon realise their mistake when they have *bleep* all to buy other than WiiSports 3 and Carnival Games 8.

I really doubt releasing it on the PS3/360 would've made that much of a difference really. Game would've been overshadowed greatly by other game behemoths like Modern Warfare or Dragon Age: Origins, while Shattered Memories looks like it could pass off as a $20 downloadable game.

It should be, the game really wasn't worth $50 at all. The disappointing sales are as disappointing as the actual game itself. The game started off with such high potential and then it later just went from frightening to just downright repetitive and annoying. It really baffles me how IGN rated this the 2nd highest Silent Hill game since SH3.

.......they......they still rate Silent Hill 2 above it then, I hope. Otherwise there really is no hope for the world.

SH3 is actually IGN's highest rated Silent Hill game. Apparently Shattered Memories now holds 2nd place.

According to many retailers I heard from, not very many people in the American audience really appreciated or hardly noticed the Silent Hill series until after the movie came out. After the movie, there was a high demand for the games. I think Konami has been trying to appeal the series to Western audiences lately.

Shattered Memories truly did have potential though, I actually thought the first two parts of the game were rather terrifying. The problem was the game got far too repetitive and there was pretty much no variety in monsters at all.

Tbh, the SIlent Hill revamp looks really really bad. Checked a strategy guide for it and nearly facepalmed into another dimension when I saw Dhalia Gillespie had been turned into a goth-emo rocker. :\ Climax finished destroying the series, but not without Konami's say so.

I own every silent hill game to date, I finished SHSM a few days ago and LOVED IT. It's not the same thing, it is a new take on the series, but personally I enjoyed the game from start to finish. MUCH better than Homecoming, that piece of garbage can just *bleep* off. =(
