Zipper: Xbox Live Is "More Juvenile" Than PSN

Is Xbox Live's community more juvenile than PSN's? According to Zipper Interactive's Ben Jones, it is. In a recent interview with GamerZines, Jones revealed that "the PlayStation audience definitely fits more" to their upcoming online multiplayer shooter MAG...

Zipper Interactive's Ben Jones has said that he believes Xbox Live is "more juvenile" than PlayStation Network, and that MAG "definitely fits more" to the PlayStation audience "because of the things that are being said over Xbox Live".

Speaking to GamerZines at an event held in London yesterday to celebrate the imminent launch of PlayStation 3's upcoming online multiplayer shooter MAG, Jones said:

"I actually consider Xbox Live the more juvenile of the two," blaming "the things that are being said over Xbox Live" by its users for the service's relative immaturity.

        Like people not understanding why he says it and what for. Oh its a coincidence that the game he is making is a PS3 exclusive.

        Its like people get surprised and angry when companies say this. I mean its not like he's going to go "Yeah PSN sucks donkey shit, its why we decided to release our game on the same system" Companies always gotta rip on the competition and stuff.

        and then people bitch and moan in the comments about how they "dare" say that as if there is some rulebook or something.

          Yeah, banter. I gathered that already from the article but that doesn't mean we can't discuss the comparison of maturity or lack of between the PS3 users and 360 users.

    As much as I hate most of the kids on XBL, not everybody is like that. The article is leading, so to speak, in that it's saying that all XBL players "talk smack" and that he once saw some person help another person out on PSN, meaning that the community as a whole is more mature.

    Don't get me wrong, it probably is, but for him to give such a shit and brief example for what will clearly make 360 fanboys rage and PS3 fanboys think "Oh so true!" doesn't justify his claim whatsoever.

    360's come with headsets right? Therefore, you're more likely to enounter the annoying kids and other idiots you meet online. I'm pretty sure if the PS3 came with a headset it'd be no different.

      I dunno, I think it's because the PS3 was initially was more expensive, so the little kids with no jobs just got a 360 'cause it was cheaper, which *might* be why there seem to be more juvenile kids on XBL.

      But it's only a theory, mind you.

    I have to agree, honestly. I mean the PSN seems to have more in the area of mature players. Sure they have their problem children, but it's not nearly as much as on the XBL. I think it's a combination of the Price, and availability of the headsets and all that stuff. Not to mention I believe the 360 is advertised more highly in favor of kids (through the "I gotta have this game because it's so popular" type of thinking most younger people have) versus the seemingly more mature adverts for the PS3 that are often overlooked by the younger.

        I think the Internet (including PSN and LIVE) just draw all the trolls from their lairs. On LIVE, I get weird messages from people who want to be "friends" because I'm a chick. On PSN, my avatar-.... well... you know what happens there.

        And so God gave us a mute option.

    The 360 comes with a mic.

    That's it. Xbox Live is easily accessible - and when something is easily accessible, it has a wider range of audience. Shocking. The retard 12-year-old on the PS3 Modern Warfare 2 shooting allies in Hardcore is the SAME as the 12-year-old doing it on the 360, only the kid has a mic on the 360 to be able to scream "I DON'T LIKE BLACK PEOPLE" while doing it.

    However, hopefully all the people that called Valve fanboys for talking what may or may not be interpreted as smack towards the PSN userbase... will feel the same about this guy for ACTUALLY talking smack about the Live userbase.

        Just making a point. If you can tell me where it sounded like I was offended, I'd be glad to know it.

        Everyone expects the generic praise, but he went out of his way to call Xbox Live juvenile. Pretty sure most PR guys don't do that. It's something much more discussable than generic PR talk.

      Don't think I haven't experienced it before and got a laugh out of it.There were 2 guys on Warhawk screaming abuse at each other after the match and I thought it was hilarious.

    And last time I checked all 360/psn and PC users use the internet (most of the time).
