That title was unveiled today, with Capcom announcing Monster Hunter Frontier Online for the Xbox 360, a port of the PC title Monster Hunter Frontier, which released back in 2007. No doubt that it will hit US/UK stores before the end of 2010. Can't freakin wait! Played Monster Hunter Freedom to death on my PSP.

This is another AAA exclusive for 2010 for 360. I say exclusive because it's a Capcom & Microsoft game.

I'd expect early 2011 for Europe in all honesty, given previous MH release dates.

Seems like a strong push from Microsoft to try to recapture the Eastern gaming community. Sales have plummeted in that region, and having a title such as Monster Hunter is sure to get some interest back in it.

I'd be interested to see how many people in Japan have active Live accounts, definitely going to see a spike in that soon... that is unless it sold well on PC in the region

As a PSP fan I personally want to go and strangle a capcom employee...

WHY THE *bleep* ARE PS3 LEFT OUT IN THE COLD YET A'*bleep*ING'GAIN!!! Monster Hunter started on playstation, and was made on PSP, on the backs of Sony consoles. NOW FIVE YEARS ON!!! When they finally make the game I've ALWAYS wanted, a console version on a console with decent online, ITS ON THE XBOX!

It's been a while since Microsoft bought an exclusive. I suppose it was only natural that they revive that with this

Only takes a port of a 2-year-old PC game to do it

It'll be a good game, no doubt, but it isn't mindblowing.

Turns out Monster Hunter Online will have a pay to play service, the plus side?

You pay for Monster Hunter Online, which by the way the monthly subscription is the same as a month of live AND you get a month of live free.

Therefore you pay your normal XBL Gold subscription into your monster hunter account and get your XBL Gold Monthly Free!

However, thats Japan only. Chances are that it'll be free for people in the US/EU, as i remember this happened with another game, were Jap paid to play and we got it free.

Someone was saying on the Xbox 360 forums that it would be $15/month, so you'd be paying triple of what you normally pay for Xbox Live Gold.

But you get 30 days of XBL GOLD with it, so it's not a bad deal. Anyway, that's Japan. Monster Hunter Tri~ is pay2play in Japan and free2play everywhere else, so it's hard to tell what they'll do for us.

I know about the 30 days of gold thing, I was including that in it. Assuming you get the subscription, your monthly Xbox Live fee would basically triple.

I hope you're right about it being F2P everywhere else. I'm sure they would benefit from it in the end if they did, so it would be a smart decision on their part.

Very pleased about this. For me. I think Capcom made a dumb decision though, since most 360 owners don't know what monster hunter is. *facepalm*

Glad it's on 360 anyway, since it pretty much ensures we'll get it. If it were on PS3, it'd be a bit iffy if it left Japan.

I'm on the fence about it. I loved MH on the PS2 and I had about 100+ hours online with it (*bleep* the PSP versions), but the additional fee in here doesn't really thrill me.
