A user by the name of Eldorian at Wii Weight Loss Plan, claims he has lost 10 pounds a month in 4 months by just spending 30-45 minutes playing with his Wii and making some changes in his lifestyle and eating habits. He used to way 270 pounds and is now down to 230 pounds, planning to get down to 190 pounds. The picture is of him in his old pair of jeans with his current weight. Well, the Wii does it again.

I think in the last 4 months I've been able to do what every guy dreams they could do. Spending about 30-45 minutes a day by yourself, just playing with your Wii (sometimes inviting others to join you) and losing weight in the process (10 pounds a month in fact!).

Not only that but then you get to come online and brag about it all to thousands of people across the world and some are even fairly interested in your late night Wii adventures.

If you had asked me 2 years ago what I would be doing today, I seriously doubt those last two paragraphs I wrote would be anywhere near the top of the list of things, but today, it is. I have lost 10 pounds per month for the last 4 months, by doing nothing more than using the Nintendo Wii as exercise and making some minor lifestyle adjustment changes with my eating habits and also with the way that I think.

In the end, you still have a fat J. R., but not AS fat J. R. and by far a happier and more positive J. R. I'm hoping that a few more months I'll be weighing 190 pounds instead of my current weight of 230 pounds. That's not really so hard to fathom considering 4 months ago I was 270 pounds. Once I reach 190, I'm still considered overweight for my height (but not obese any longer) and I'll definitely want to get to a normal weight of around 150-160.

To show an example of my progress, I give to you a picture of me currently in my old favorite pair of jeans. These jeans had actually barely fit me and I didn't need a belt to keep them on when I started the plan.

As you can see now, I can't even really wear them even with a belt. I'm needing to buy new clothes and luckily I had some old clothes from some of my early college days that I can fit into for the time being until I can afford new ones again.

And unfortunately, before anyone asks, no I won't post pictures of me with my shirt off to show the difference. When I started this plan I did have a picture like this taken (with my shirt off), I'd just rather not plague the world with this image of my pasty white man titties. Maybe once I reach my goal weight (or less) I could post it (with the opposing current picture) - but as of right now I'd rather not deal with that ridicule in my life.

So there you have it, I'm living proof that you can lose weight by playing with your Wii every day. Now that I've lost 40 pounds, here's to 40 more!

Wow, it is nice to hear that the Wii has made a meaningful contribution to this guys weight loss, and I am not surprised that this is possible with games such as Wii Boxing. That made even me sweat when I got into it.

Wow. This guy is going to be on all the commercials like Jared of Subway now. Lol. This is definitely believable because of the Wii remote and some games like Wii Boxing.

I also hear that Guitar Hero gives you a workout, but wouldn't it really just exercise your fingers and help you with eye hand coordination? Guitar Hero, I'm talking about.

Keep at it. Yeah, Guitar Hero Works while playing DDR simultaneously on another screen, besides, that's how you do concerts.

Let me post this message while highlighting its obvious flaws.

The #1 weight-loss exercise is still very simple: Putting the Fork Down!

The basic way that all diets work is by having you eat less and move around more (except gimmicky stuff, like Atkins, which tries to fiddle the system). He's not claiming to have invented rocket science, just to have found a fun way of doing that.

I have known ppl who lost more on DDR That was b4 the wii came out. This isnt big news. I bet if ppl did DDR everyone would have been fit.
Nor will this solve overweight ppl. cause ITs not the console that makes you lose weight is your drive to become it. I mean if everyone walked 10 miles everyday im pretty sure just like the DDR games for playstation 2 and Xbox would be losing weight. It great that he lost the weight but Again its up to the ppl to want to lose weight not spend money on burger king or Macdonald's and then blame the fast food restaurants about them for being Over weight. That was the same problem with the Macdonald's Super size. If PPl learned some self control and eat right 80% of America wouldn't be fat.

Let's say you're gonna lose pounds by playing Wii and that's good, but why not play horror games and some action pack simulation or even puzzle ones, you'll sweat before you know it.

The Wii can give you quite a workout if you play on it for long enough.
I found that played 1 hour + of Boxing was quite tiring XD ... // Why go running outside when I can sit in doors and play on my Wii ^^

Thats like saying why go out to eat if i can eat at home for free?
Yea like i said its great he lost weight but have you ever played DDR. It burns more calories than anything i have seen. Especially the extreme modes where they're super fast Leg reflexes. However I think walking is better as well. Only when your away from Burger lands lol I swear there more addictive than crack. But i dont see ppl blaming crack for there problems lol

I'm sort of getting sick of stories like this. of course if you are overweight and play the wii alot it will help you lose weight, it's a form of exercise, not as good as most other exercises but I find it funner

I say Play DDR or walk thats the key. besides not overloading your self with fast food restaurants. Like i said above its more addictive to crack, though ppl dont bame crack for there problems like over weight ppl.

But yea im also sick and tired of reading malarkey like this. Who cares we know it will happen. Its like posting eating fruits and vegetables will help you lose wait. Duh.

I've played my Wii quite a bit. I haven't really noticed any weight loss from it though.

That's probably because your not trying to lose weight. This person has gone out of there way to play the Wii for the sole reason of shedding a few pounds, were as we all just play it for the fun (( I hope ... ))

Wasn't this one of the main points from Nintendo? That it'll get you moving and such, so much that you can perhaps lose weight over it? It's good to see someone working hard yet having a good amount of fun to get some weight off.
