Final Fantasy Versus XIII Info NOT Coming In February

It's been a while since any new info on Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been revealed, but fans won't have to wait much longer, with Sony's Jeff Rubenstein announcing that some big news is coming this February.

Update: The article at the source had been updated, and it looks like there was a misinterpretation in Rubenstein's statement. He was talking about FFXIII, not Versus XIII. Does this mean we'll be hearing some big Final Fantasy XIII news this month, instead?

Update: Since the article went live, Jeff has clarified his previous statement to let it be known that he misunderstood the question and that Final Fantasy Versus XIII information won't be made available on the PlayStation blog this month. Jeff replied to another reader asking him to be sure he meant Versus XIII with the following statement:

"Ah, Versus? SquEnix ain’t gonna talk about that with FFXIII coming up so soon, I know that much.

When they’re ready to start talking Versus (and I don’t know when that is), I expect you’ll be seeing them here to address you all directly."

      Actually, the article says in the Update that he mistunderstood the question. Ah well. Although, I figured we'd have to wait for FFXIII first.

    Man, what the hell? I've been waiting for something NEW to show up about Versus. I'm thinking that this game will probably never be developed. >>

      They've got a couple of Kingdom Hearts titles in development right now, and they also announced they're working on a new project as well. Keep in mind, they only just showed conceptual gameplay designs in a closed studio maybe five months ago, so they're probably barely up to halfway on Versus development. Wouldn't expect it until...I dunno, 2011?

    I can wait a little while since XIII is only a month away now.

    But Versus sounds really interesting, especially the Action RPG style they are using.
