If there is one thing Hideo Kojima hates, it's having to delay a game. In a recent Kojima Productions blog, he said: "I always preach to the staff, 'You must not have a delay after a release date has been announced. There is no greater crime as a game developer.'"

Needless to say, he was apologetic that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker had to be delayed.

Following Friday's announcement, Peace Walker director and Metal Gear series father Hideo Kojima made a post at the Kojima Productions blog concerning the delay.

To say Kojima feels sorry about the delay is an understatement.

Wrote Kojima, "I always preach to the staff, 'You must not have a delay after a release date has been announced. There is no greater crime as a game developer.'"

"Official announcement of a release date is nothing less than a promise to fans and business partners. In other words, a release date change is like betraying the expectations of everyone."

Oh Kojima... how I wish we could lock you up and force you to create Metal Gear games for the rest of your life. And yet somehow I wish you could escape the series you may very well never step outside of, try as you might.

Good to see someone dedicated to their schedule, heh. The delay is fine, works in my favor of getting a PSP and...hoping for a price drop on a PSP.
