In addition to announcing the game on GameSpot, Sega has opened the official website for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1. And it reveals the game will actually be coming to four platforms: PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, WiiWare and ???.

An image in the top right of the site touts the release date (Summer 2010) and the platforms (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, WiiWare and ???). Obviously, Sega hasn't offered any hints as to what that fourth platform could be. Is Sega working on a portable version for the DS, PSP or iPad? Or maybe a PC version? Who knows, maybe the game will be a launch title for the recently announced Genesis refresh, the Sega Zone.

Sega have shown lots of encouragement for the iPhone/iTouch/iPad. It makes sense for the game to be on that platform.

It would be silly on the DS with the touch-screen imo, the PSP would be pretty cool though.

The Sonic Rush games worked just fine on the DS, and are often considered the best Sonic games since Adventure =/

Besides that, the DS is getting the Classic Collection in a few months.
