BioWare has heard the complaints about Mass Effect 2's text being too small on SD TVs, but unfortunately they are unable to fix it.

"After investigating potential solutions, we have determined that while this issue does affect a small portion of SDTV owners, we are unable to resolve it for Mass Effect 2 through a title update," the game's product manager, Michael Gamble, said.

But don't worry about it affecting future ME games. They are looking into the situation and hope it will be fixed for Mass Effect 3.

“We understand that on some (SDTVs) the smallest text in Mass Effect 2 can be difficult to read. While this was not an intentional result, it was a byproduct of the enhancements to the user interface,” Michael Gamble, the game’s product manager said on the official forums.

“After investigating potential solutions, we have determined that while this issue does affect a small portion of SDTV owners, we are unable to resolve it for Mass Effect 2 through a title update.”

Apparently, Mass Effect 3 won’t suffer the same problem as Gamble said the situation will be looked into with the next title.

Well that's certainly not a good sign. Surely they can change something as menial as the size/color of the text? Updates have fixed far worse problems than that.

Well *bleep* you very much Bioware, the text in the first one was perfectly legible without being obtrusive, same for DA:O. Ironic that your upgrades should lead to this

At least they are addressing the issue. I'd believe BioWare with this, they would certainly try to solve the problem, but maybe just don't have the proper timing and such. It's better than what Bamco did with Tekken 6...I know I keep bringing that up but good god it was so annoying.
