According to the figures, FFXIII seems to have been selling about as well as FFX-2 for the first four weeks. Upon hitting week five, sales figures started to declined drastically. What does this say about the long-awaited FFXIII?

The sales figures for Final Fantasy XIII, whilst initially healthy enough, have plummeted to levels far lower than previous titles in the series.

Well, it says that it's following the exact same trend as previous games, where it's sold ridiculously strongly to begin with and then dropped off. I would have thought that was obvious, but apparently not.

The reason why the numbers are lower is because there's less PS3s in Japan than there were the respective consoles at the time of previous releases. Japan's economic climate probably didn't help much, either.

I'm sure it doesn't help that Sony is still pushing their PS2s into the market either.
