Cutscene enthusiasts (like moi) should be delighted to hear that FFXIII officially includes 10 hours of cinematic goodness. So get your popcorn bags ready!

Square Enix Holdings Co. this week said Final Fantasy XIII for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 holds 10 hours of cutscenes in the final product.

The title is said to hold 50 to 60 hours of gameplay, including the cutscenes.

Ten hours? Ha, I hope they are spaced out and have enough going on to stay interesting. Similarly, they better not be too long. I couldn't sit through a 20+ min cutscene.

Haha that reminds me of how long Xenosaga cutscenes were. Some were so long they had a save point in the middle of them.

Yeah...I definitely could never get into the game because of that. Just completely ruined the flow of the game.

Actually, I can't say that because the game flowed a lot like the cutscenes did: slowly.

So long as the story isn't a piece of contrite doody (and, if they are, then the cutscenes are skippable) it's all good.

I like me some pretty pictures. But it does require a good balance between cutscenes and gameplay. A 20-minute cutscene, 3 minutes of gameplay, and another 20-minute cutscene can get irritating if it happens too often.

This is more or less a JRPG norm, so its not off-putting for me.

Reminds me of MGS4 eh? Didn't that have a ton of cutscenes in it? I have that game, but never finished it ~_~

But does it beat MGS4s cutscene length?
