iXtreme firmware 1.2b

Latest firmware for samsung drives. Does nothing more then allow you to slow the read speed down, if your laser is giving you problems, and you don't want to replace it, then use the firmware. Hitachi's firmware still has no eta.

iXtreme firmware 1.2b has been released. Only thing that has changed is ability to read disc's at 4x speed. Useful for those with bad lasers.

    Correct me if im wrong, how useful is this. I mean if the lasers are bad this firmware will do nothing but screw up the system IMO.
    I say check the laser by sending them to MS.

    Problem is if your 360 is out of warranty, or you already opened it thus voiding your warranty, this is a way around buying a new laser. But in the end replacing your laser is the best choice IMO.

    what good does this do. It sounds as if it makes it worse then it already was.

    Slowing the read speed down, helps the laser read the discs. It also keeps the drive a bit more silent then if it was reading at 12x the whole time.
