Ezio isn't done hunting the templars, so his story will continue on to Assassin's Creed 3. It has been confirmed that Rome will be a playable city in the 3rd game, and one game will be 'Assassination.'

Ubisoft has said that assassination multiplayer will be included in the new Assassin’s Creed game.

Ubisoft said in its Q3 investors call today that the game would see Ezio striking the Templars at their headquarters in Rome.

It would also include what Ubi called “innovative” multiplayer, where players can participate in an assassination mode against friends online.

Didn't they say that this wouldn't be Assassins Creed 3?

I thought they annoucned it to be called "Assassin's Creed 2 Bloodlines"?

If not, I'm not liking the sound of this...

Bloodlines is the PSP game, they haven't officially given this new title a name yet. I'm also fairly sure that you're right, and that this isn't AC3.

I heard that as well. It probably will be called Assassin's Creed 2: "something."

I'll bet it's just one set piece. Used to help continue the story and transition to a new era. I'm thinking the game will be set in modern times, as the story shifts back to Desmond.
