In the past, Remedy revealed plans to make Alan Wake a long-running series and assured gamers that it will have a "conclusive and satisfying ending".

But it seems they haven't exactly figured out what that ending will be...

Remedy writer Sam Lake told CVG that he expects the title to branch out of this episodic format - and have a "larger story" beyond the confines of the game series.

He said: "We really feel there needs to be a satisfying conclusion [to the Alan Wake story]. But at the same time, it needs to end in kind of a cliffhanger and we need to open doors for a larger story beyond this one.

"How Alan Wake as a whole will end? We have ideas and have mapped out the storyline quite far, but time will tell. I'm sure it will live a life of its own and things will change along hte way. We certainly would like to do more, but ultimately if people want more, they will get more."

I predict the story will find itself stuck in a time loop until said ending is figured out.
