Ever since SEGA estimated that Resonance of Fate would be released sometime near Final Fantasy XIII, RPG fans have been hoping the company would change their minds and give the game a more suitable release date.
Unfortunately, that isn't going to happen.
SEGA have officially revealed the US release date for Resonance of Fate is March the 17th.

Apparently the fine folks at Sega and tri-Ace either aren't scared of Final Fantasy XIII, or weren't paying attention to Square Enix's plans. They've announced that Resonance of Fate, the latest RPG from the developer behind the Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile series, will be released in North America on March 17, just one week after Final Fantasy XIII hits retail.

I feel the same way about Yakuza 3. Sega was considering not releasing Yakuza 3 in the NA region because of poor sales from Yakuza 2, and now they finally decide to release it, and it's being released on the SAME DAY as FFXIII. It's like they want the game to fail.

This game will have poor sales for the first 2 weeks or so... I myself will be getting this game, but I wont be buying it until May. This is a horrible move on SEGA and tri-Ace's part. Never go one on one with a numbered Final Fantasy title (even if you think your game is better).

It's also released like 3 days after the new Pokemon games for the DS. March is a pretty stacked month for new games and it's going to be interesting to see how some games will do in terms of sales. But bad timing indeed. Same release date as FFXIII. There goes good sales for this game.
